Advanced Material Management

Epicor Advanced Materials Management system offers businesses tools for creating electronic material requests, dispatching, and tracking all inventory movements, including raw materials and items in process. Utilizing wireless terminals and barcode technology, it allows for real-time tracking of inventory, granting full control and visibility as materials and work-in-progress items move through the enterprise. Key features include on-demand bar coding, an interface for material handlers, tracking of material movement, prioritization of orders, allocation of sales orders, scanning of barcode tags, and handheld device capability.

Kanban

In response to the rising global competition and the evolving requirements of the online supply chain, customers increasingly seek more product flexibility, more frequent and smaller deliveries, and superior product quality at the lowest possible cost. To address these demands, the Epicor Job Management module within the Operations Core Package offers Lean Production functionality. This feature is tailored to help organizations meet these market challenges and enhance plant floor operations. It includes implementing Lean Manufacturing Kanban methods, which emphasize a 'pull' approach in the production process, ensuring products are created as needed to meet demand rather than in excess.

Supplier Portal

The Supplier Portal integrates suppliers into the Kinetic system efficiently, offering an integration solution for those able to connect directly, and a web portal for those who cannot. This ensures clear communication in a user-friendly, non-technical language. It allows for the viewing of documents and status updates on sourcing requests, as well as graphical insights into Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) data. The web-based analytics monitor supply chain activity, giving alerts on unexpected or non-compliant supplier actions. This level of transparency provides real-time visibility into orders, carriers, and warehouses, enabling quick response to any disruptions in the supply chain.

Credit Card Payments

The Epicor Payment Exchange integrates with Epicor Financials to facilitate credit card processing by offering several components. The Epicor Payment Application acts as a payment service, receiving transaction data from Epicor Financials and relaying it to the Epicor Payment Gateway. This gateway service operates in the cloud, managing credit card payment requests, authorizations, settlements, and reporting. It handles transactions for American Express and Discover cards in compliance with PCI standards. Epicor Payment Exchange ensures a secure, PCI-compliant connection to merchant services, promising higher security and easier compliance. It features daily batch reconciliation and process streamlining, storing encrypted credit card data in the cloud, which reduces the PCI DSS responsibility for users. The Kinetic environment enhances security by not storing cardholder data, instead working with tokens from the payment gateway, which minimizes PCI scope. The service supports international transaction processing in Canada, Australia, and New Zealand through an integration with PayFlow Pro (PayPal). It's important to note that the Epicor Payment Exchange service is exclusively available to customers in the U.S. and Canada.

Make to Order / Engineer to Order

Epicor's Quoting module offers a streamlined process for generating cost-based estimates through a user-friendly interface. Users can drag and drop components, operations, or materials from existing quotes, BOMs, or past jobs to create new estimates. The system allows for modifications of parts for accurate re-estimating and includes the calculation of various costs such as material, subcontracting, labor, and additional burdens. It accommodates special charges, like tooling or design fees, and incorporates pricing strategies like minimum lot charges and scrap factors. Users can set and store markups for different cost elements and generate RFQs to obtain supplier pricing, which can be reviewed and integrated into the estimate. Once orders are confirmed, minimal input is required to finalize the detailed routing for production or further modifications.

Advanced Scheduling

Epicor Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) is an add-on to the core Scheduling system that amplifies its capabilities. It introduces several advanced features, including scheduling that accounts for multiple constraints, a variety of scheduling techniques, and intuitive visual drag-and-drop interfaces. It also offers scheduling based on specific capabilities and interdependencies, real-time 'capable-to-promise' assessments, and sophisticated material planning tools. These enhancements aim to provide comprehensive and flexible planning solutions to meet complex scheduling demands.

Demand & Forecasting

Forecasts for inventory and sales can be created using data from various historical sources, such as past sales, invoicing records, and inventory usage trends. Users have the flexibility to manually input forecast data for specific companies, facilities, customers, dates, and parts, or directly copy and paste information from other software applications. Additionally, there is the functionality to both export data to other systems or customers and import it into the forecasting system. The imported data can be detailed by individual part, customer, plant, date, or company and can be utilized to update an existing forecast, create an entirely new one, or completely reset and reload the forecast data.

Advanced Requisition Management

Epicor Advanced Requisition Management (ARM) is a robust solution designed to enhance requisition and purchasing processes within Epicor Financials. It allows for staying within budget and managing spending limits through automated procedures and adaptable multi-dimensional approval workflows. The integration with Epicor Financials is seamless, providing real-time data access and transaction creation, contributing to an efficient staff experience. Epicor ARM offers a catalog feature where inventory items are optionally listed for easy access. It can process purchase requests related to specific jobs and projects within Epicor. Additionally, it handles non-inventory goods and services requests, connecting them directly to the general ledger (GL) accounts, and includes features like budget tracking and the capability to split GL entries. The system supports the use of Epicor's own suppliers, including preferred suppliers, and integrates with their online catalogs or web stores for seamless transactions. It is capable of handling requisitions across multiple locations and companies. As a part of its comprehensive features, Epicor ARM can automatically generate Purchase Orders, Transfer Requests, Receipts, and Accounts Payable Invoices within the Epicor system. For sourcing, Epicor ARM simplifies the process of creating a Request for Quote (RFQ), inviting suppliers to bid on purchase requests. It also provides functionality to access or 'punch-out' to a supplier's web store, allowing users to directly add items to the shopping cart, streamlining the procurement process.
