The Epicor Quality Assurance module enhances a company's ability to oversee and manage quality operations comprehensively. It provides visibility from the overall process down to the individual item level, integrating all aspects of quality control such as the disposal of defective parts, rejection of unsuitable raw materials, and first article inspection tracking. The module ensures accurate valuation of products as they move through the quality assurance phase, facilitating the removal of items from work-in-progress status as needed. It also streamlines the returns process with suppliers, with automated links to Accounts Payable for efficient debit processing, thereby maintaining product traceability throughout the plant. Additionally, inspectors have organized workflows for reviewing items, including actions to address and rectify issues, and floor employees have the capability to mark parts that do not meet quality standards.

Supplier Portal

The Supplier Portal integrates suppliers into the Kinetic system efficiently, offering an integration solution for those able to connect directly, and a web portal for those who cannot. This ensures clear communication in a user-friendly, non-technical language. It allows for the viewing of documents and status updates on sourcing requests, as well as graphical insights into Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) data. The web-based analytics monitor supply chain activity, giving alerts on unexpected or non-compliant supplier actions. This level of transparency provides real-time visibility into orders, carriers, and warehouses, enabling quick response to any disruptions in the supply chain.

Advanced Scheduling

Epicor Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) is an add-on to the core Scheduling system that amplifies its capabilities. It introduces several advanced features, including scheduling that accounts for multiple constraints, a variety of scheduling techniques, and intuitive visual drag-and-drop interfaces. It also offers scheduling based on specific capabilities and interdependencies, real-time 'capable-to-promise' assessments, and sophisticated material planning tools. These enhancements aim to provide comprehensive and flexible planning solutions to meet complex scheduling demands.

Regulatory Compliance

Epicor for Manufacturing offers a Supply Chain Management solution with robust lot tracking and attributes to enhance supply chain efficiency by ensuring full visibility of parts at every stage. The system can record and maintain traceable materials, automatically generate lot numbers following specific rules, and allow users to add various attributes to each lot such as batch number, heat number, manufacture date, and expiration dates. Serial tracking is also integrated, providing the option for full traceability of every move a part or its components make within the facility. This function is scalable, allowing companies to choose the level of serial tracking that suits their operations, even limiting it to recording serial numbers only at the shipment stage to reduce overhead. This flexibility in tracking and recording is especially beneficial for businesses looking to optimize their control over inventory without unnecessary administrative burden.

Advanced MES

Epicor Advanced MES automates data collection from shop floor equipment, providing real-time and accurate data that reduces the need for manual input. This instant access to information allows for proactive management of production issues before they arise. With real-time insights, it is possible to identify and address critical issues promptly, which helps to reduce waste, enhance product quality, and ultimately improve customer service.

Demand & Forecasting

Forecasts for inventory and sales can be created using data from various historical sources, such as past sales, invoicing records, and inventory usage trends. Users have the flexibility to manually input forecast data for specific companies, facilities, customers, dates, and parts, or directly copy and paste information from other software applications. Additionally, there is the functionality to both export data to other systems or customers and import it into the forecasting system. The imported data can be detailed by individual part, customer, plant, date, or company and can be utilized to update an existing forecast, create an entirely new one, or completely reset and reload the forecast data.

System Integration

Epicor Automation Studio is a cloud-based platform designed for enterprise automation within and outside the Kinetic platform, allowing for seamless integration and automation of workflows and robotic process automations (RPAs) with minimal coding required. It's effectively an integration-led automation module (iPaaS) that provides over 1,000 connectors, such as Salesforce, ADP, and ServiceNow. The platform also offers access to a large library of over 400,000 'recipes' or automations in the Workato community, which users can tailor to their needs. Additionally, Epicor offers exclusive Industry Templates, which are pre-built automation recipes developed for Epicor customers.
