Global MMOG/LE Support

Many of the Epicor manufacturing customers make complex products, and by the same token, they view themselves as complex businesses that defy categorization. Epicor manufacturers have the tools to effectively serve their customers—public sector or private, domestic or foreign, because they are aided by ERP functions for every area of a manufacturing business, whether they are make-to-stock, configure-to-order, engineer-to-order, kit-to-order, repetitive, or some combination thereof. Nearly all of the Epicor for Automotive ERP modules, including financials, are not integrated, but embedded together in the same code base. Labeling / Container Management

Epicor CMS excels in labeling and container management, supporting both standard and serialized bar code labels, as well as full container serialization via labels. It allows linking master and mixed load labels to serial labels and printing in various formats, including 3 of 9, PDF417, UPC, and Code 128. The system is equipped with RFID capabilities, along with collection devices and RF guns, to streamline operations. Additionally, it supports in-line vehicle sequencing labels and tracks both returnable and expendable containers, ensuring efficient and accurate inventory management.

Shop Floor Management

Epicor CMS offers a suite of tools designed for efficient management of multi-location and multi-plant operations. It features a touch screen Human Machine Interface (HMI) for shop floor use, enabling seamless machine monitoring to automatically capture machine status and part counts. Users can view real-time machine status with the Plant Floor Viewer and receive automotive part reporting based on machine signals. Additionally, the system supports lineside labeling, automatic material replenishment notifications, and virtual Kanban production environments, making it ideal for both repetitive and work order manufacturing environments. Advanced planning and scheduling tools, along with robust labor and container tracking capabilities, ensure streamlined production and enhanced operational efficiency.

Traceability

Epicor CMS offers robust traceability features, ensuring comprehensive tracking from cradle to grave. With a serial/lot tracker, users can easily perform genealogy research and track inventory by lot, serial, VIN, or heat. The system provides unique sub-lot control for various items like coils, rolls, rods, and boxes, while also tracking detailed material specifications such as chemical composition, steel mechanical attributes, material type and grade, coating, and dimensions. Additionally, it allows material loading at production to verify the correct material usage and associates employee and resource information with labels for enhanced traceability.

CMS is equipped with embedded automotive EDI support for CUM, RAN, and Pull signal environments, and is Honda® approved. The system supports X12, Edifact, Odette, and VDA standards, as well as in-line vehicle sequencing from both 866 and broadcasts. Epicor CMS also features model year roll utilities, available-to-promise logic on inventory, WIP, and capacity, along with comprehensive Customer Relationship Management and an EDI workbench for streamlined operations.

Global Financials

Epicor CMS provides comprehensive financial management with modules for Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), and Fixed Assets. It includes a project management and costing module, supports multicurrency transactions, and allows for user-defined financial statements in a spreadsheet format. The system offers activity-based amortization of tooling, calculated average collection days, and cash forecasting. Additional features include Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions, retroactive billing, electronic remittance advice processing, Positive Pay, and intercompany sales and inventory transactions.
